Saturday, March 16th:
The day started off rather horribly. I walked to work in the pouring rain (only about a mile, but it was enough to get soaked like you wouldn't believe). Even my uniform which was in my backpack got partially soaked. I was pissed, to say the least.
So after mostly drying out, it was time to clock in and start my long day. My shoes and socks were still wet, much to my discomfort, and remained so all day.
Nothing really happened save for our two new hires being released to work on the floor. Both of them are competent and eager to learn, which is good. I have a feeling they'll be good employees when they get the hang of things.
As a closing shift, I help out with working the freight, and this night's load was luckily not bad at all. If you took the TVs off, it would just be half of a pallet. Well, we finished it all within an hour.
I bribed my coworker with Taco Bell for a ride home, so at least I didn't have to walk in the bitter cold without a jacket for long (my jacket was still soaked).
So nothing really happened much with this day, just a normal day at work.
Sunday, March 17th:
I have this day off! Had a friend stay the night and then we went to get the replacement starter for our Firebird. After this was done, we went to a Thai restaurant, which had pretty good food but was a little too pricey. Probably wont be making frequent visits there.
Working on commissions to eventually get rid of my long to-do list.
Monday, March 18th:
Was off this day as well. Literally played Skyrim all day, except the hour or so that I was working on a commission. It's nice to get lost in a fantasy world every now and then. We got the car working now, at least, only issue is that there's a few fuses that are dead and making the dash lights not turn on. Should be interesting to figure out which is out, but we bought a couple boxes of them anyway to replace them if needed. Also got some watercolor paper, so now I can start doing more ink paintings.
Tuesday, March 19th:
Tonight was an annoying night. I was scheduled to close the photo lab, which is no problem. As soon as I get in, there's a faux-canvas that needs to be built. Still no problem, I've done it before and it's easy, just a long process. I forgot one step in the beginning, which is to bend the edges of the cardboard cutout that the print is mounted on. So, the edges of the picture got cracked. No problem, stuff like this happens all the time, I'll just start again.
The second time, someone distracted me while I was in the process of sticking the print to the cardboard (it comes pre-glued, you peel plastic off and stick it on). The face of the print got stuck to the glue. At this point, I'm getting angry at the whole thing, so I print it again and do something else for a while before going back to the third try.
Well, the third try turned out fine, and the woman was relatively happy with it.
Then a woman rushes up to me and demands I make a passport for her baby. I shrug and say ok, and then get everything set up. Took about 10 pictures until we got at least two that were decent. So I go over to the computer behind the counter and start the process of printing the passport photos. The woman starts going off on a tangent about how it needs to be perfect because she's going to Seattle tomorrow and she doesn't want her time and money wasted if it isn't going to be right. I printed it anyway, got a second opinion from a coworker and she said it was fine. Then as I finish it and am about to price it, the woman tells me she needs a second set printed. Not like she could've told me that in the beginning, I could've saved time when I had to change the paper back. No problem, I printed a second set, but then she tried to tell me it didn't look like it would pass the regulations. So I showed her the guide print and told her to take it with her in case whoever it is in Seattle tries to tell her otherwise.
Other than that fun stuff, it was a good night~
Wednesday, March 20th:
I work a short shift again today, second day of six, then I have court next week for my ticket. Woke up relatively early and played some Skyrim before getting ready for work. Such a great game.
Nothing much really happened, no customers that struck me as exceptionally annoying, but I did have a good conversation with a couple and educated them on how to use RCA cables on an HDTV using an antenna switch thing.
Thursday, March 21st:
Meh. Enough said. Terrified of going to court on Tuesday.
Friday, March 22nd:
Probably one of the more darker days in my life, but it ended ok, I suppose. Was sent away from electronics, which I was grateful for because I needed the time alone to think.
